The album ‘El Grito de La Yacumama’ (‘The Scream of the Yacumama’) is a sound documentation of a project by collective Aloardi, 2007. This publication includes 4 Volumes, which are all available for (free) download.

Vol. 1 begins with a recording made on August 18, 2007, after an earthquake with serious consequences in southern Peru. Aloardi members can be heard talking to the bus drivers, who stopped on the road to Pisco (epicenter of the earthquake). You can also listen to recordings made on the route from Pisco to Puerto Maldonado, and in the ecological buffer zones of the Tambopata – Candamo National Reserve. You can hear these soundscapes in their acoustic, electromagnetic and underwater dimensions. They show the environmental impact of multinational projects such as the development of the Interoceanic Highway.
